But understanding where design is moving can be useful when you\u2019re planning a renovation, building a home, updating a space or simply trying to avoid choices that may quickly date your home.<\/p>\n<p>In this video, I\u2019m sharing 7 design trends I expect to see more of in 2027, including shifts in:<br \/>\n\u2022 Wood tones and finishes<br \/>\n\u2022 Color and cabinetry<br \/>\n\u2022 Home layouts<br \/>\n\u2022 Tile and grout details<br \/>\n\u2022 Lighting<br \/>\n\u2022 Kitchen styling<br \/>\n\u2022 The return of a few familiar design ideas<\/p>\n<p>Some of these are trends I think have real staying power. Others may have a much shorter lifespan.<\/p>\n<p>Most importantly, you don\u2019t need to follow every trend.
