OpenAI CEO Sam Altman reportedly sends out ‘code red’ warning over AI competition

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman reportedly declared a “code red” due to competitive pressures, following Alphabet’s (GOOGL, GOOG) release of Google Gemini 3.
Sevens Report Research founder Tom Essaye joins Opening Bid with Yahoo Finance Executive Editor Brian Sozzi to explain why a “code red” at OpenAI “matters for all of us.”

The “code red” was in an internal memo to employees on Monday, according to The Information, as the company’s rivals continue to advance their artificial intelligence language learning models, such as Alphabet’s Google Gemini 3.
JonesTrading chief market strategist, Michael O’Rourke, joins Morning Brief host Julie Hyman to discuss the “AI civil war.”
