More Than Hair
Gayle Ardner, a resident of Liverpool in NY, survived triple negative breast cancer through chemotherapy, tumor removal, mastectomy surgery, and most of all with her faith in God. When Gayle learned of her breast cancer last January, she changed her diet and became a vegetarian.
She felt a renewal of good health after changing her lifestyle, but it was not enough to stem the growth of a red lump on top of her breast. She underwent surgery and had both of her breasts removed. Gayle shaved her head completely after losing clumps of her hair during chemotherapy. Gayle’s hair was important to how she thought others perceived her. With the support of her family, friends and of her faith, Gayle realized she was more than hair.
