Furniture I Would NEVER BUY as an Interior Designer ❌ (Stop Buying These at ALL COST!)

The Good, The Bad, and The Absolutely Hideous. It’s always fascinating to stumble upon furniture stores that apparently raided the 1980s Sears catalog and decided, “Yes, this is exactly what 2026 needs!” I’m genuinely curious who’s buying these pieces, and more importantly, are they okay?

These showroom setups can be surprisingly deceiving too. Everything looks decent under those strategically placed spotlights, but the moment you get it home, it’s like watching a catfish reveal itself after the dating app filters come off. Suddenly that “charming vintage piece” looks like it belongs in a garage sale… from 1987.

Here are just a few red flags I’ve learned to spot when furniture shopping for clients.
