What home design trends are coming in 2027, and which familiar ideas are making their way back?

Every year I look at what I’m seeing across interior design, client projects, social media and the broader design world to make my predictions for what we’ll be seeing more of next.

Trends don’t mean you need to change a home you already love. But understanding where design is moving can be useful when you’re planning a renovation, building a home, updating a space or simply trying to avoid choices that may quickly date your home.

In this video, I’m sharing 7 design trends I expect to see more of in 2027, including shifts in:
• Wood tones and finishes
• Color and cabinetry
• Home layouts
• Tile and grout details
• Lighting
• Kitchen styling
• The return of a few familiar design ideas

Some of these are trends I think have real staying power. Others may have a much shorter lifespan.

Most importantly, you don’t need to follow every trend. The goal is to understand what’s changing and then decide what actually makes sense for your home, your style, and the way you live.
