From an evolutionary biology perspective, the benefits of semen retention make a lot of sense. The theory is this: if you don’t ejaculate for a number of days, your body optimizes your hormones, physiology and neurochemistry to be able to perform better in the world (for the original evolutionary sake of procreation).
In our lives today, we can consciously choose to use this increase in our abilities to create the life we want. Some people call this sexual energy transmutation (the act of choosing intentional action in the world instead of ejaculation).
